Röchling Engineering Plastics (UK) acquisition of Vitrathene

Röchling UK have recently acquired the Genus leisure range and High Tec specialist shielding range from the Southport based firm Vitrathene Ltd.

The Genus® range consists of pool side and changing room systems that are built to last. The range is designed to meet the demanding challenges of the modern leisure industry. The materials used are totally impervious to water ingression. It will not crack, rot, corrode or de-laminate. Products within the Genus® range include lockers, cubicles, grills, channel overflow grating covers, benches, slides, playpens and high chairs.

Röchlings’ newly acquired Hi Tec range produces specialist polymer based sheets, blocks, rods and tubes for Hi-Tech technology applications. We now manufacture unique and bespoke sheets for the nuclear shielding, medical and other specialist industries. This was a welcome addition the existing shielding capacity that Röchling have offered for many years.

Former Vitrathene customers can be assured that the range of products supplied from Southport are now available from Röchlings’ state of the art facility in Gloucester.

The former National Sales Manager from Vitrathene, Greg O’Leary, has joined Röchling. Greg said “This is a very exciting time. I am confident that Röchling will  continue to provide market leading products for the leisure industry. The manufacturing quality and materials used are second to none and we are looking forward to expanding the range of goods available for our customers.” 

Röchling will also produce a range of recycled polyethylene sheets in conjunction with Smile Plastics, who were also manufacturing sheets from Vitrathene’s Southport factory.
